A New Era of Leadership Begins Now

By Dione Geiger, President, The Sterling Council

Next week, leaders from across Florida, Georgia, and beyond will gather at the 34th Sterling Leadership Conference at the JW Marriott Bonnet Creek in Orlando. While conferences often focus on trends, tools, and ideas, this year’s gathering represents something much larger.

It marks the beginning of A New Era of Leadership.

For Sterling, this is more than a conference theme. It reflects a renewed commitment to expanding the reach and impact of the leadership and operational excellence principles that have guided organizations for more than three decades. It is a recognition that today’s leaders face unprecedented challenges—and extraordinary opportunities.

Across every sector, leaders are navigating rapid technological change, workforce transformation, economic uncertainty, rising customer expectations, and increasing demands for accountability and results. The pace of change is accelerating. The complexity of leadership is growing. Yet one truth remains constant: organizations thrive when leaders create clarity, build trust, develop people, and establish systems that produce sustainable results.

That is why Sterling’s framework for performance excellence is more relevant today than ever before.

The organizations that consistently succeed are not simply reacting to change; they are creating cultures that embrace learning, innovation, resilience, and continuous improvement. They understand that leadership is not merely about managing today’s challenges—it is about preparing people and organizations to excel tomorrow.

At this year’s conference, attendees will experience more than 40 workshops and learning opportunities, inspiring keynote presentations, healthcare accreditation sessions, certified leadership development tracks, Speed Learning sessions, Team Showcase presentations, the Storyboard Competition, Expo experiences, and our celebrated Awards Banquet. Most importantly, participants will engage with a community of leaders who share a common commitment to excellence and meaningful organizational impact.

We will also have the privilege of recognizing exceptional organizations and individuals who are demonstrating what leadership excellence looks like in action. Their achievements remind us that excellence is not accidental. It is the result of intentional leadership, disciplined execution, and an unwavering focus on mission and values.

As Sterling continues to expand its outreach and influence nationally, we remain grounded in the same purpose that has guided us from the beginning: helping leaders and organizations achieve higher levels of performance and create lasting value for the people they serve.

The future belongs to organizations willing to learn, adapt, innovate, and lead with purpose. The future belongs to leaders who understand that excellence is not a destination, but a journey.

That journey continues next week.

I invite you to join us as we launch this new chapter together and explore what leadership excellence means in a rapidly changing world.

Because the future will not be shaped by those who simply respond to change.

It will be shaped by those who lead it.

Welcome to A New Era of Leadership.
